Urban Root's Favorite Vendors

Here's a list of some of our resources for the things we need here on the farm. We'll add to the list, so check back from time to time.

Morgan County Seeds LLC
18761 Kelsay Road, Barnett Mo. 65011-3009
Phone- 573-378-2655
Give these folks a call and they'll send you a catalog. We like doing business with them because they are knowledgable honest folks who aren't greedy. Their prices are usually the best to be found. They have an online store as well, but we prefer to work with them over the phone. P.S.- you'd be hard pressed to find a high quality high tunnel kit (like the ones Morgan County offers) for less money.

Johnnys Seeds

Johnnys puts out a great catalog with excellent descriptions and photos. We order quite a bit of our seed from them, and we use a number of the unique tools which they carry. Click the logo above to request a catalog.

Baker Creek Heirloom SeedsBaker Creek Heirloom Seed Co.
2278 Baker Creek Road
Mansfield, MO 65704
Phone: (417) 924-8917
Baker Creek Seeds is headquartered in Mansfield Mo. They offer tons of really interesting seeds, and exclusively offer open pollinated varieties. They're catalog is beautiful too!

Race Brothers Farm Supply
2310 West Kearney
Springfield, MO 65803

417-862-4378
Race Brothers is a local company with a location right here in Springfield. They sell pretty much anything you might need on a farm from tractor parts to work pants. I'd highly reccomend dropping by to poke around, but specifically I try to buy all of our nuts and bolts from them because they are the only retailer I am aware of who still sells hardware by the pound. It is dramatically cheaper this way.

FarmTek

FarmTek is my go to for unusual hardware which I need for farm projects, and innovations. Be warned though; they send out a lot of catalogs.
